Our Skeleton

On Friday we looked at our skeleton. Here are some facts that we discovered:-

When your are a baby you have 300 bones but by the time you are an adult you only have 206. This is because some of your bones have connect or ,fused, together.

Our biggest bone is the one from your hip to your knee and it is called your femur.

Our smallest bone is in our ear and it helps us to hear.

Our skull started as 21 seperate bones that gradually connected together but your jaw always remains seperate.

We had some fun making a picture of our own skeleton.

Matariki pictures

This week we looked at Matariki and how it can be celebrated. Here are our pictures for Matariki.

First we had to paint the background of our paper to look like a night sky.

We used the colours black, red and blue.

Then we left them to dry. After they had dried we added the stars. We had 21 stars in total and we had to

Make a cluster of seven stars somewhere on our picture to represent the stars of Matariki.

Here are our finished pictures.
